Security Central is pleased to announce the appointment of Tommy Whisnant as Chief Compliance Officer. With nearly three decades of experience in the electronic security and alarm industry, Whisnant brings extensive expertise in field operations, executive leadership, licensing, regulatory affairs, and corporate compliance.
In this role, Whisnant will lead Security Central’s compliance strategy, strengthen the company’s regulatory and operational framework, and serve as a trusted resource for Security Central’s partners as they navigate an increasingly complex regulatory environment.
“Tommy brings an exceptional combination of operational experience, regulatory knowledge, and genuine commitment to our industry,” said Caroline Brown, CEO of Security Central. “Compliance is not simply a corporate requirement; it is fundamental to protecting the trust our partners and their customers place in us. Tommy’s leadership will help us continue raising the standard while supporting responsible growth, innovation, and long-term partnership.”
Whisnant began his 29-year career in the security industry as an Installation Technician before advancing into leadership positions, including Installation Manager and Regional Operations Manager. In 2015, he transitioned into Human Resources and later served as Director of Compliance and Licensing, where he oversaw licensing, regulatory requirements, and corporate compliance initiatives.
His appointment reflects Security Central’s continued investment in the people, expertise, and infrastructure required to move the monitoring industry forward. It also supports the Company’s Monitoring with Momentum commitment combining forward-thinking technology with disciplined operations, meaningful industry advocacy, and the personal service of a family-owned organization.
“Security Central has built a strong reputation by leading with integrity, investing in innovation, and treating its partners like family,” said Whisnant. “I am honored to join the organization and look forward to working alongside our team, customers, and industry partners to strengthen compliance, advocate for the electronic security profession, and create new opportunities for sustainable growth.”
Whisnant is a recognized industry leader and an active contributor to several national and state organizations dedicated to advancing the electronic security profession. He serves on the Electronic Security Association Government Relations Committee, The Monitoring Association Government Relations Committee, The Monitoring Association Compliance Committee, the Florida Legislative Committee, and the North Carolina and South Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police False Alarm Reduction Committee. He also serves as Secretary of the Security Industry Alarm Coalition Board.
Through his leadership and industry involvement, Whisnant will help ensure that Security Central remains prepared for evolving regulatory requirements while continuing to deliver the integrity, responsiveness, and partnership its customers have trusted for generations.
